Britain’s Environment Department has mandated that all dogs be microchipped by 2016 or their people will face fines. It is hoped that universal microchipping will help reunite many more of the roughly 110,000 dogs lost per year with their families and ensure that people are held accountable for their dogs’ behavior.
DooRight is proud to announce that we have become a Supporter of Best Friends Animal Society. Best Friends is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring about a day when there are No More Homeless Pets. Last year the New York Yankees went to bat for Best Friends by selling A Dog’s Life dog treats at Yankee Stadium and at their two retail venues in New York City, with net proceeds from sales going to Best Friends. Best Friends Animal Society is very involved in the fight against puppy mills. Best Friends’ legislative alerts gave the public tools to contact lawmakers about animal issues which helped make changes to the Animal Welfare Act. The great news is that adopting a pet from a shelter or rescue group is a sure-fire way to avoid unknowingly buying a pet from a mill. The best part about that? It saves a life! DooRight could not have selected a better animal rights organization to partner with.
